Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter

Membership in Delta Gamma brings with it countless memories and experiences which will shape its members for years to come.
Consistent with our Founders’ thoughts in 1873, our primary purpose is to create an environment for our members in which lasting friendships and our vows of sisterhood emanate all aspects of our Fraternity. We encourage an atmosphere which will foster high ideals of friendship among college women, promote their educational and cultural interests, create in them a true sense of social responsibility and develop in them high qualities of character.
Delta Gamma is more than just a collegiate experience; it is a lifetime  of commitment, support and opportunity awaiting you. It marks the beginning of a relationship that will last for a lifetime.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Greetings, sisters! And welcome to a new year of sisterhood and friendship with Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Gamma Fraternity.
Whether you’ve moved here from New Jersey or Texas, California, Tennessee, or somewhere in between, I hope you’re settling into your new home. That might be in Springfield, the Beaches, Fleming Island, the Southside, the Northside, San Marco, Bartram Park, or Nocatee.
If you are one of our newer residents, let me offer you a cheerful welcome to our city! I am so glad you’re here and I hope you’ll reconnect with Delta Gamma through our Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter.
If you’ve been in Jax for a lifetime or just a little while, let me offer you a hearty welcome back to a year of reconnecting with your Jax sisters, new and old.
It’s hard to believe that a year has already passed, and what a year it’s been! Delta Gamma concluded the celebration of its sesquicentennial – 150 years of the Do Good Sisterhood – and Jacksonville Chapter has reached its 70th anniversary.
Last year, we encouraged you to Reconnect with Delta Gamma. Whether it was painting pumpkins, watching the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, engaging in a competitive Bingo night, or exceeding our fundraising goal for the Foundation, I hope you were able to join us for laughs and good times.
This year, we invite you to Rekindle your love, your hope, your friendship, and your sisterhood in Delta Gamma, and we hope these events will inspire you to do so.
Our Fall Kickoff will be Thursday, Sept. 19, at BJ’s Brew House, St. Johns Town Center. This is frequently our best-attended event of the fall season, so make plans to come and meet sisters, old and new.
In October, we’ll join with our Ponte Vedra/Beaches Alumnae sisters for an evening of bowling at Beach Bowl. This event will double as a Do Good Week event; please bring canned goods that we’ll donate to a local food pantry.
November will bring something new: a Book Exchange, hosted at a fun new bookstore, The Literary Lounge. Remember, you don’t have to be a dedicated reader to enjoy quality time with your sisters!
And in December, we will again have our ornament exchange at a restaurant at St. Johns Town Center. Start scanning Etsy, Amazon, eBay, or your favorite craft store for the perfect DG-inspired decoration!
Switching gears, if you haven’t heard the news, the Fraternity will reestablish Beta Tau chapter at the University of Miami in spring 2025. Also exciting news: Two members of Jacksonville Chapter, Mary Vale Jensen and Allie Caskran Morrow, will serve in key roles to guide Beta Tau’s return.
In late June, I had the privilege of representing Jacksonville Chapter at the 71st Biennial Convention in Palm Desert, California. Apart from the outside differences like scorching heat, low humidity, and dry, mountainous terrain, the rooms inside were filled with women who shared values and sacred bonds. It was a fascinating experience, and I’m happy to talk more about the Fraternity business if you’re curious.
Finally, none of what I’ve mentioned would be possible without two key resources: time and treasure. Jacksonville Chapter welcomes volunteers to expand the ways we Do Good. If you’re interested, please reach out to me or any of the other officers.
Dues are what allow us to have local events that meet the objects stated in Article II about friendship, educational and cultural interests, social responsibility, and character. You can learn more about dues on our Alumnae Dues page.
Stay tuned to our Facebook page and Member Planet for the latest information on all these events.
On behalf of the Jacksonville Alumnae Chapter board, I welcome you to a year of rekindled sisterhood! We hope to see you soon.
ITB,
Beth Slater Mason
